Counseling for Individuals

Individual counseling consists of one-to-one sessions for 50 minutes one time per week. Today’s focus tends to be on the brief counseling model. The first session is to identify problematic areas and develop goals.

Everyone goes through transitions and challenging life events. Counseling is a safe place to sort things out. Sometimes our most difficult struggles open new doors and lead to growth.

My experience has given me the opportunity to work with people from a wide variety of backgrounds, but the process remains the same. It is to hear their story, help them explore the issues and develop new skills, and to ultimately move forward with some resolution.

Below are common issues I work with:

  • ADHD
  • Adult Child of Alcoholic (ACOA)
  • Affairs (real/virtual/emotional)
  • Anger
  • Anxiety
  • Bipolar Disorder
  • Co-Dependency
  • Dating
  • Depression
  • Divorce/Breakup
  • Family of Origin Issues and Childhood Trauma
  • Life Transitions
  • Military Lifestyle Issues
  • Parenting
  • Stress
  • Trauma
  • Women’s issues
  • Work-related issues
